Almost every aircraft owner, and every CFI, should have a customized checklist for the airplane they usually fly or use for instruction. Airplanes change, but the checklist never does. The checklist needs to reflect what is in the airplane today; not when it left the factory. Factory checklists assume the pilot already knows how to fly. Students are lost.
