All-Electric Beaver First Flight

magniX and Harbour Air made history in December 2019 when we flew the world’s first commercial all-electric aircraft, a 7 passenger DHC-2 Beaver on floats equipped with a 750 hp magniX electric motor. The project was launched in March of 2019 and we flew just 9 months later. This talk is the story of the audacious path to get here, going through the technical challenges, the regulatory collaboration, operational considerations, and culminating in the first flight and follow-on steps.
