When aircraft go in for their annual inspection, many A&P/IAs assume it's okay for them to repair any discrepancies they find in the course of the inspection. Owners should never allow this to happen, says maintenance expert Mike Busch, because it's a sure prescription for sticker shock and owner-mechanic disputes. In this webinar, Busch advises owners how to clearly explain to their mechanics what they are authorized to do (inspect the aircraft) and what they are not authorized to do (perform any repairs or order any parts) until after the owner has reviewed the inspection results and explicitly approved specific repairs and associated cost estimates. Qualifies for FAA Wings and AMT credit.
