Flying Aircraft You Don’t Own

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT

Presenter: Bob Mackey, Falcon Insurance Agency

How many times have you rented a car, borrowed a friend’s car, or allowed a friend to use your car? We don’t spend much time thinking about insurance at times like these. Perhaps this is why pilots — from student to commercial — spend very little time thinking about insurance when they fly an aircraft they don’t own, but they should! Insurance companies are fairly aggressive when it comes to recovering money they pay for a claim, and this incudes going after pilots who rent or borrow aircraft. EAA and Falcon Insurance Agency are committed to providing the best options available for EAA members who fly aircraft they do not own. The EAA Non-Owned Aircraft Insurance Plan can provide insurance protection for pilots, from student to commercial, and aircraft including single-engine standard category, seaplanes, multi-engine, gliders and sailplanes, gyrocopters and helicopters, powered parachutes, WSC Trikes, and experimental and light-sport aircraft. This webinar will touch on all aspects of the risk and solutions for EAA members who fly aircraft they do not own.
